Robert Manning for Sailors Bay
Why I am standing for Council.
To provide a strong, unbiased and enthusiastic voice to the people of Sailors Bay.
Almost half a century ago, Josephine “Josey” Locantro was elected as the first female alderman on Willoughby Council. She instilled a desire for public service in me.
It has been instilled in me for a long time that, for a community to function, we need community participation and I’m in a position where I can use professional skills to help the people of Sailors Bay.
What I will do on Council.
1. Introduce a motion to have electronic or
postal voting for Council Elections.
2. Work to reduce costs of running council
including finding ways to improve efficiency
3. Support the single phase redevelopment of
the Willoughby Leisure Centre.
4. Improve safety & security across the ward.
5. Listen to the residents and businesses of
the entire Sailors Bay Ward.
6. VOTE against any general rate increase!
About Me
I am 47, have been married to Claire for 18 years and have one son, Oliver who is 14.
I live and work in the city of Willoughby and have a connection to the Sailors Bay Ward that stretches back over 80 years and 3 generations.
My Grandmother, Josephine Locantro, who lived at 80 Cliff Avenue Northbridge was the first female Alderman on Willoughby Council representing Sailors Bay and Nothrbridge.
I call myself an independent.
Please accept this following endorsement as I believe you would make an excellent candidate and hopefully Councillor in the near future. Please use this for that same purpose. Regards Ron Delezio.
"I have known Rob for a few years now and appreciated his support in the last Federal Election. I met him when he and his neighbours were campaigning against a development in the Willoughby City Council area. He is a determined person and committed to doing what is right for the community. Rob is the type of person that is needed in local Government. The more good people in government, the better the government”. Good luck Rob. Ron Delezio
“you would be a great asset to Northbridge and Council."
John Hooper
Preserving Amenity & Ambience whilst making progress.
My goal is to serve the people with a strong, unbiased and enthusiastic voice. Sailors Bay has a sentimental place in my heart, as it was the ward that my Grandmother, Mrs Josephine Locantro, was elected as the first female Alderman on Willoughby Council back in the day.
Whether it is shopping at Northbridge Plaza or Village, Exploring through Flat Rock Gully, Golfing at Northbridge Golf Club and Swimming at Northbridge Baths or Willoughby Leisure Centre, Sailors Bay is a special place with much to offer and a place I will represent fairly and enthusiastically.
So whilst some things need to stay the same, we must also make progress for Sailors Bay and the City of Willoughby, which is why I support the development of the Willoughby Leisure Centre in a single-phase development.
